We all know the name of the <\/span>famous scientist, Albert Einstein, <\/b>who transformed the world<\/b> with his theory about time and space. Some passages about his personal and professional life will be addressed in these short lines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Einstein <\/i><\/b>was born in <\/span>Germany <\/b>in 1879 to a simple Jewish family. He was a somewhat <\/span>shy <\/b>child, he began speaking at the age of three, so it was thought that he had some kind of problem in development. He was <\/span>patient <\/b>and <\/span>leisurely<\/b>. He had a special connection with his mother, through music. She was a pianist, and <\/span>Albert <\/i><\/b>showed an interest in music from a very young age, learning to play the violin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Einstein <\/i><\/b>was not a good student. Even during his undergraduate years in <\/span>physics<\/b>, he often skipped classes. Many teachers didn’t think he will be successful as they thought he was lazy. It was difficult for him to find work once he graduated in <\/span>physics<\/b>, because of his behaviour during his studies. But the truth is that <\/span>Einstein <\/i><\/b>liked to learn in his own way, he was <\/span>self-taught.<\/b> Seeking an explanation of things was what he <\/span>enjoyed <\/b>the most. He spent long hours staring at the <\/span>light <\/b>and deep in thought.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Patent Office<\/b><\/h1>\n

It was so difficult for <\/span>Albert Einstein<\/i><\/b> to get a job, that he repeatedly considered giving up on <\/span>physics <\/b>to dedicate his life to selling insurance. Finally, a friend helps him get a job at the <\/span>Swiss patent office<\/b>. It was a position that allowed him to earn a living, to which he dedicated little time because he was very fast with the assigned work. It’s hard to imagine the<\/span> most famous physicist <\/b>of the 20th century at a boring desk job.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the free time allowed him to devote himself to <\/span>physics <\/b>and reasoning about the <\/span>Universe<\/b>. In 1905, while he was still working in the patent office, became known as <\/span>“Einstein’s miracle year.”<\/span><\/i> That year he sent 4 articles to European <\/span>scientific journals,<\/b> that would transform the way we see the <\/span>Universe<\/b>. The first was about the<\/span> photoelectric effect<\/span><\/i>. The second about the existence of <\/span>atoms<\/span><\/i>. In the third, he presents his famous <\/span>E = mc2<\/span><\/i>. And finally, he would publish the <\/span>Theory of Relativity. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Einstein <\/i><\/b>was a <\/span>stranger <\/b>in the scientific world. These important articles went <\/span>unnoticed<\/b>, the wait was long for an <\/span>impatient <\/b>Albert<\/i><\/b>. Five months have passed and they finally reach the hands of Europe’s most important theoretical physicist, <\/span>Max Planck<\/i><\/b>. <\/span>Planck <\/i><\/b>was perhaps<\/span> the only scientist <\/b>capable of understanding the magnitude and importance of these articles written by a stranger. <\/span>Planck <\/i><\/b>immediately wanted to know more about young <\/span>Einstein<\/i><\/b>. In June 1905, the Theory of Relativity was published in <\/span>German Physics Anal.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Einstein’s Loves<\/b><\/h1>\n

Despite devoting most of his time to science, <\/span>Einstein <\/i><\/b>was a man who was not indifferent to <\/span>love<\/b>. It is not known for sure how many <\/span>romances <\/b>he had, since his faithful secretary was in charge of keeping everything as private as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the years of study, he used to play the violin at parties and events to earn some money. At these parties, it was easy for him to <\/span>flirt <\/b>and have <\/span>brief affairs <\/b>with one of the guests. Later he would meet his first wife,<\/span> Mileva Maric<\/i><\/b> with whom he studied <\/span>physics<\/b>. They had two children. <\/span>Mileva <\/i><\/b>participated in the creation of <\/span>Albert Einstein’s articles<\/span><\/i>. She wrote and revised mathematics, especially the <\/span>Theory of Relativity<\/span><\/i>. She was a <\/span>scientist <\/b>and always dreamed of being a great <\/span>physicist<\/b>, her dreams would never be achieved. This marriage would end with negotiation in 1919, after being married for 16 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

During his first marriage, he maintained a <\/span>secret romance<\/b> through letters with a cousin, <\/span>Elsa L\u00f6wental.<\/i><\/b> His cousin was a <\/span>housewife<\/b>, and very different from the physician who was his wife. After his first divorce, he would marry <\/span>Elsa<\/i><\/b>. During his second marriage, he had an <\/span>affair<\/b> with the Austrian <\/span>Margarete Lebach.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Years later, after <\/span>Elsa’s <\/i><\/b>death, he had an affair with a Soviet spy, <\/span>Margarite Konenkova.<\/i><\/b> The love letters were auctioned at <\/span>Sotheby’s<\/span><\/i>. Then he sought out the company of <\/span>Johanna Fantova<\/i><\/b>, whom he had first met in <\/span>Prague <\/span><\/i>and whom he met again at <\/span>Princenton<\/span><\/i>. She would be his companion <\/span>until the end of his days.<\/b><\/p>\n

Einstein the Pacifist<\/b><\/h1>\n

Albert Einstein<\/i><\/b> was a passionate<\/span> pacifist. <\/b>During the years of <\/span>Nazi <\/span><\/i>rule, he fled <\/span>Germany <\/span><\/i>to the <\/span>United States.<\/span><\/i> There he lived until the end of his days. Through Hungarian scientific friends, he learned of <\/span>German <\/span><\/i>plans to create a <\/span>superweapon<\/b>. The <\/span>uranium <\/b>would be used in such a weapon to cause an unprecedented <\/span>explosion<\/b>. <\/span>Einstein <\/i><\/b>together with <\/span>Le\u00f3 Szil\u00e1rd<\/i><\/b> and <\/span>Eugene Wigner<\/i><\/b> (Hungarian physicists), decides to send a letter to the President of the United States, <\/span>Franklin Delano Roosevelt. <\/b>This letter warns about the <\/span>danger <\/b>of this <\/span>superweapon<\/b>. The signature would be <\/span>Einstein’s<\/i><\/b>, for being the most well-known scientist of the three.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then the race to develop the<\/span> nuclear weapon<\/b> begins, the <\/span>Manhattan Project <\/b>was born. <\/span>Einstein <\/i><\/b>would be known as the father of the nuclear bomb. This would<\/span> mark him forever. <\/b>He regretted signing that letter suggesting the development of a nuclear bomb.<\/span><\/p>\n

He felt deep sadness and a total <\/span>rejection <\/b>of nuclear weapons. He decided then to support and participate in all the causes that requested and achieved <\/span>strict control<\/b> of nuclear weapons in the <\/span>World<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Einstein’s Brain<\/b><\/h1>\n

In 1955, <\/span>Albert Einstein <\/i><\/b>died of an aortic aneurysm. The pathologist who performed the autopsy, <\/span>Thomas Stoltz Harvey,<\/i><\/b> decided to <\/span>steal <\/b>the scientist’s brain to study it. Over the years, various <\/span>neuroscientists <\/b>studied the famous physicist’s brain. They concluded that he had a brain with greater connections that linked one hemisphere to the other. Which allowed him a <\/span>greater cognitive capacity.<\/b><\/p>\n

Einstein <\/i><\/b>wrote a large number of essays, actively participated in various fields, scientific, activist, political, among others. He was a man with an incredible sense of <\/span>compassion <\/b>and <\/span>humility <\/b>despite his overwhelming fame. The <\/span>fame <\/b>that he never managed to understand.<\/span><\/p>\n
