Happy Valentine’s day! I hope that each one of my readers will interrogate the effects of this day on both GDP and GNP.<\/h1>\n

What is Gross Domestic Product? What is Gro<\/em>ss National Product?<\/em> What is love?<\/del><\/p>\n

Gross Domestic Product(GDP<\/strong>), is used to compute the total value of the goods&services produced in a country’s borders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gross National Product(GNP<\/strong>); the computation is similar, however, the location is not restricted<\/strong> as GDP.<\/em> This implies that GNP will count the economic activities of expatriates and other citizens outside the country\u2019s borders but GDP will not do it.<\/p>\n

\n

There are some ways of calculating both of them, the simplest ways;<\/p>\n

GDP(Income aproach)<\/em><\/strong>= \u00a0Total National Income + Sales Taxes + Depreciation + Net Foreign Factor Income\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

GNP<\/strong>= GDP + Net Income Inflow from Overseas \u2013 Net Income Outflow to Foreign Countries<\/em><\/p>\n

The terminologies I used;<\/p>\n

Total National Income<\/strong>= The\u00a0entirety<\/span>\u00a0of all\u00a0compensation<\/span>,\u00a0lease<\/span>,\u00a0intrigued<\/span>, and profits.<\/p>\n

Sales Taxes<\/strong>= \u00a0Buyer<\/span>\u00a0charges which are <\/span>forced<\/span> by the government on the goods&services.<\/p>\n

Depreciation<\/strong> = Cost allocated to a tangible asset over its useful life.<\/p>\n

Net Foreign Factor Income<\/strong>=\u00a0 The\u00a0distinction<\/span>\u00a0between\u00a0the entire<\/span>\u00a0payment<\/span>\u00a0that a country\u2019s citizens and companies\u00a0produce<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0outside<\/span>\u00a0nations<\/span>, versus\u00a0the overall<\/span>\u00a0pay<\/span>\u00a0remote<\/span>\u00a0citizens and companies\u00a0create<\/span>\u00a0within the<\/span>\u00a0residential<\/span>\u00a0nation<\/span>.<\/p>\n

When calculating the\u00a0sum<\/span> of the\u00a0wage<\/span>\u00a0earned by a country\u2019s\u00a0inhabitants<\/span>\u00a0in <\/span>their area<\/span>, GNP\u00a0gets to be<\/span>\u00a0a more\u00a0dependable<\/span>\u00a0pointer<\/span>\u00a0than GDP.\u00a0Within the<\/span>\u00a0globalized economy,\u00a0people<\/span>\u00a0appreciate<\/span>\u00a0numerous<\/span>\u00a0openings<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0win<\/span> a\u00a0salary<\/span>, both from\u00a0household<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0outside<\/span>\u00a0sources. When measuring such\u00a0wide<\/span>\u00a0information<\/span>, GNP\u00a0gives<\/span>\u00a0data<\/span>\u00a0that other\u00a0efficiency<\/span>\u00a0measures\u00a0don’t\u00a0<\/span>incorporate<\/span>.\u00a0In case<\/span>\u00a0inhabitants<\/span>\u00a0of a\u00a0nation<\/span>\u00a0were\u00a0restricted<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0residential<\/span>\u00a0sources of\u00a0wage<\/span>, GNP would be\u00a0rise to<\/span> GDP, and it would be less\u00a0important<\/span> to the government and policymakers!<\/p>\n

As I mentioned above, GNP has no limits.<\/p>\n
