<\/p>\nThe internet has been changing things for a little while now. Ten years ago it was just starting to become a really important part of our lives, some apps were becoming really popular as a source of entertainment; we used it to communicate and keep in touch with the people that we love; 10 years forward and a lot of people depend on it to make a living.<\/p>\n
Maybe you have heard about the term of the ‘creator economy’, if you have not, in this article I’m going to explain the basics on what it actually means and why many people are paying a lot of attention to it. What is happening is really amazing and will have the power to empower a lot of people.<\/p>\n

When did it start?<\/b><\/p>\n
For a long time, the media and the big corporations owned the most popular media sources, wether it was news platforms or just entertainment. If we wanted to become part of their system we had to join one of these massive companies, and it surely was the only option that we had if we wanted to succeed in that environment or to position ourselves and get that job. The power of the creator economy had not been unleashed yet. But over time, the media decentralized.<\/p>\n
We found new ways of entertainment, and a big part of that content was being created by ordinary people, from the comfort of their own homes. And we as consumers as well, feel more attracted to this new way, as it is a lot more relatable and consequently, more interesting.<\/p>\n
As we all know, platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, written blogs, etc. have helped people create a platform of ‘viewers’ or ‘followers’ from all around the world. Once the creators realized they could very well monetize their platforms and what they do, that’s when the creator economy started.<\/p>\n
What do they do?<\/b><\/p>\n
Since a lot of the creators get to develop a really close relationship with their viewers and followers, it is not rare to see how much support they get from them. Some of the things that they offer are:<\/p>\n
These are only a few options and the list goes on and on. This brings a lot potential for people all over the world who want to start something of their own, and they can start with just a camera and having access to the internet. Interestingly enough, the creator economy did not pair up exactly with the creation of the internet. It took it a little time to ramp up and for people to catch the possible opportunities.<\/p>\n

Do you recognize its power now? Maybe you are part of your favorite creator’s audience too. And have you thought about becoming one? If you have, now it’s the time. Just remember to provide your audience with content that gets to them and that can give them some benefit for their lives.<\/p>\n
Many people on twitter do this for free, and have built a considerably big audience by doing so. Many writers use is too to make connections and share a little bit more personal parts of themselves and what they write with everyone.<\/p>\n
Now you can start to create your own ‘online curriculum’ by simply sharing your ideas online. There will always be someone who is interested; it doesn’t matter your race, your age, where you are from or how much education do you posses. That’s why now, it’s your chance to maybe start your dream job. Go for it. I hope this small read has inspired you.<\/p>\n
