7 Questions About Coronavirus You Probably Wondering

We read about the COVID-19 pandemic every day: Here are 7 questions we are sure you have in mind.

 

1-What is the difference between isolation and quarantine?

Quarantine is used for anyone who is a contact of someone infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19, whether the infected person has symptoms or not.”

Isolation is used for people with COVID-19 symptoms or who have tested positive for the virus, means being separated from other people, ideally in a medical facility where you can receive clinical care. ”

 

 

2-Should children wear a mask?

WHO brought together a group of international experts. Experts considered available evidence of transmission, the psychosocial needs of the children, the capacity to use the correct mask alone, and other factors. WHO and UNICEF made some suggestions:

Children aged 5 and under should not wear a mask. Adjustments can be made when necessary such as, being physically close to someone who is ill. Also, it should be ensured that it is used correctly within an adult.

3-Does the transmission of COVID-19 from food or packages possible?

There is no evidence that this virus can transmit disease from food or packets. According to the information available, the mode of transmission of this virus is respiratory droplets, the virus needs a live host (like a human) to infect.

 

 

4-Can we exercise when there is a risk of COVID-19?

Yes, as long as social distance and hygiene rules are followed, sports can be done during this period. Cycling, walking in the open air may be preferred, hands should be washed with soap and water before and after the activity, before entering the house. If not possible, an alcohol-based hand rub should be used.

 

 

 

5-Can COVID-19 can pass through breastfeeding?

Transmission of  the infectious virus from breast milk is not detected yet. There is no reason to stop breastfeeding.

 

 

 

 

6-Will we be vaccinated every year?

“We may need to be vaccinated every year for coronaviruses, just like flu vaccines. This will change depending on the length of time our body’s immune system responds to vaccines. ”

 

 

 

7-Is there a possibility that someone with the Covid-19 vaccine could infect?

”The virus is transmitted through respiration. It is taken from the upper respiratory tract and reaches the lower end tract.
