2020 was a tremendously unusual year for most of us. Covid-19 changed our lives more than we could ever imagine. It caused significant changes and challenges in the film industry. For instance, theaters were closed for the majority of the year as part of Covid-19 measures. Many film companies had to postpone the release date of the movies. Here are five movies we are expecting to see in theaters and stream platforms in 2021. 

Black Widow

The upcoming Marvel movie starring Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow, the ex-KGB agent, is set during the Civil War-Infinite Wartime era. In the movie, our hero tries to cope with broken relationships from the past while struggling with a dark force following her. Marvel Studios is expected to release the film on May 7, 2021.

Coming 2 America 

Nearly three decades after the release of the first movie, Eddie Murphy’s Prince Akeem returns back to the white screen. In the upcoming sequel, Prince Akeem finds out that he has a son he never knew about in Queens. To honor the former king’s dying wish to raise his grandson in the Zamunda kingdom, Semmi and Akeem travel to America to find the new crown prince. Amazon Studios will exclusively release the movie globally on Prime Video on March 5, 2021.

The Matrix 4

The fourth movie of the Matrix franchise, directed by Lana Wachowski, is expected to be released by Warner BrosPictures theatrically on December 22, 2021, and will stream simultaneously digitally on HBO Max in the United States for a month beginning on that same date. The cast includes stars from previous movies such as Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Daniel Bernhardt; Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are among the new cast.

No Time To Die

“Name: Bond…JAMES BOND”

In the 25th movie of the James Bond franchise, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga we will see dashing Daniel Craig as 007 for the 5th and the last time. In this movie our favourite agent Bond has left active service and is living a peaceful life in Jamaica. Bond leaves his new life behind when a friend from the past shows up to help him and embarks on an action-packed adventure. No Time To Die is expected to hit theaters on April 2, 2021.

The French Dispatch 

Wes Anderson’s new movie centered on three different stories is about the events that happen in an American newspaper office located in a fictional 20th-century French city. The script was written by Wes Anderson, Roman Coppola, Hugo Guinness, and Jason Schwartzman. Like Wes Anderson’s other movies, this movie is full of A-stars. Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Lea Seydoux, and Tilda Swinton are just a few cast members. The French Dispatch is planned to be released in May 2021.
