Overcoming Procrastination
Everyone’s life is affected by procrastination. This is because we are only human, and we tend to delay our responsibilities. These delays may have several meanings, but the important thing is you can overcome this procrastination. You can give up procrastination in three steps. Remember! it takes time and patience to overcome a habit.
The reason
People do not think about the meaning of their actions, but each action has a hidden meaning in our subconscious. Therefore, you need to find out why you are procrastinating to let go of this habit. Okay, but how can you do it? The first thing you need to do is to be mindful of the times you procrastinate. After realizing these moments, you should think about what this thing you delay means to you. For instance, if you want to learn a new language and you started to work on that but after a while, you got scared or bored with the grammar and reading so, you could not study for a week. The reason behind this procrastination is probably your fear of failing.
Remember Why You Started
Knowing why you started, and what is your goal is the biggest motivation for most people. If you are preparing for university, remember why you want to go there. Imagine yourself there and the future that university can laed to. You can make Pinterest boards or change your phone screen as a reminder for your dream or can print out some pictures to remind you why you started to motivate yourself.
Two Minutes Rule
We think we need the motivation to do our responsibilities, but motivation cannot be always there for us. Therefore, we need to start doing that and let motivation come later. To do that, you can apply two minutes rules to your daily life. You can do the dishes or tidy your bed or desk with this rule rather than preparing a project for its deadline. You should set a timer for two minutes and start to do the thing you need to do. This way you may see how easy it is or how little time it takes and relax.
