THIS IS NØT HØLLYWØØD: PHILOSOPHICAL VIEW
Songs, especially hardcore/metal/metalcore music have a tendency to have a deeper meaning in their lyrics. As a critical thinker and a hardcore music fan, I will be interpreting the lyrics of the song that I’ve had on repeat:
GHØSTKID- THIS IS NØT HØLLYWØØD
”The more I remember, I wanna forget”
This sentence acknowledges its place by being a melancholic-empirical statement.
An Empiricist believes that knowledge was founded in empirical observation and experience.
John Locke, Ghostkid, and the Author of this writing can be classified as empiricists.
Was your past-self is your true self? Or are you living in a dream for your ideal-self?
”You’ve always denied that living the dream means living a lie”
In this sentence, Ghostkid emphasizes himself with the greatest Nihilist, Nietzche.
Every action you make is a lie, there is nothing to dream, nothing to accomplish. The only thing that matters is to fulfill the nothingness.
However, even Nietzche found peace in art, he was in love with classic musicals.
The undeniable true dream is to make art.
”Tendencies used to be pure”
Do you believe in pure good? Any good without a return of favor?
Thomas Hobbes stated first, humans are selfish by nature.
Each one of my readers is pragmatic, they read my writings to learn something or make their free time valuable.
Selfishness comes naturally, they do it for themselves, not for me.
”Wanna feel alive, we wanna fill this hole inside”
We are constantly looking to distract ourselves from the real situation.
We get drunk, get high, moreover get in love. Do you feel alive?
Just to make sure the child in us becomes happy inside.
The reality is the child never was inside, the child has just grown up by quantitative age. You are the kid.
