It’s Time to Manage Your Time: Kanban Technique
Use Your Time in the Best Way and Shape Your Life with Kanban Technique.
Today we introduce the importance of the Kanban Technique. When we have accumulated tasks in our lives, we want to escape from them. There are moments when we don’t know where to start. Therefore, they begin to be a knitting ball in our heads that a cat plays with. There is no more escape! Today, we shed light on you with our article about Kanban Method.
What is Kanban?
The word Kanban etymologically depends on the Japanese language, and that means “board.” In the late 1940s, Taiichi Ohno was working at the Japanese car company Toyota. He launched this Kanban technique to increase the work efficiency in the factory. Fundamentally, the Kanban method has three stages: visualise, limit, and unite.
First Stage in Kanban Method: Visualise
We tell the cat to let go of our knitting ball, and we calmly set the cat aside. Then we focus. We find the things that make knots in our knitting ball one by one. This is the stage where we write our tasks in our minds on post-it papers. Visualise your plans; this helps you see what you have to do. Using colourful post-it papers might be attractive for you, and you can also write your tasks according to their importance level and then assign a colour to each one.
Second Stage in Kanban Technique: Limit
Here, in the Kanban method, limiting means classifying your task. For this, divide the floor or “board” on which you will stick your post-it papers into three. Give names in the form of three main headings. The first heading is “To Do,” where you list what you are going to do. The second heading is “In Progress,” and you put here what you are doing right now. The third heading is “Done,” and you put what you have done and your finished tasks. Let’s have a look at our examples.
Third Stage in Kanban Technique: Unite
The important thing is to understand the technique correctly and be patient while applying it. Firstly, list your tasks as it is given in Figure 3. So you can set your priorities and concentrate on what you need to focus on. For example, today, you might want to surf on Mozart Culture, then pick it from the “To Do” list and put “In Progress.” Then, you can scroll each task that you have completed to the “Done” list. THAT’S ALL! Enjoy the pleasure of surfing on Mozart Cultures.
