Where is your Star of Bethlehem?

Oh, sorry…

In daily life, we forget to just stand and look at the sky. And without any reminder, we hardly ever think to take a few minutes to watch the moon, the stars and beyond. Oh, of course, I almost forgot,

We are incredibly busy people.”

For God’s sake, who just stand and look at the sky in vain?

But, when people had nothing to do (that is, of course, in ancient times) they had more time to look at the sky than we did. Yes, it sounds pointless, but they did. Not only that, but they created stories by looking at the sky. Years passed and the stories led pioners. They, just, used their imagination and knowledge together. Planets, their moons, and other astronomical phenomena were discovered by them. So, finally, they discovered the galaxy we live in.

I think you’ve heard of the Great Conjunction these days from somewhere. Jupiter and Saturn will reach their closest positions on December 21 for the first time in 800 years. This seems like something incredibly large is happening in the sky far from Earth. But, wait, maybe doesn’t? Oh, okay, I am sure it doesn’t for us. At best, in our busy world, this is an excuse for a post we post on social media. Thus, it just proves we’re keeping up with the trend.

Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn

How Great Conjunction?

Years ago, people looked up at the night sky. Suddenly, they saw a bright shining point. After having looked enough, 3 of them set out by uploading their own meanings to this point and following it. They reached Jerusalem after the journey with this point. They asked the first person they saw:

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Yes, they associated this point in the sky with the birth of Jesus, and they reached their final destination on the way out. This a bright shining point they called the star brought Bethlehem region of Jerusalem. So, according to the signs, the story would be called the Star of Bethlehem.

Many astronomers in those years tried to prove that this star is not exactly a star, but another special celestial event. One of the events said was the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.

This is just a story, no one has been able to prove it for now. In fact, it has nothing to prove. But you know, we love myths. And also, let’s face it, it’s a great imagination like Great Conjunction, huh?

Raise your head to the sky!

In today’s world, we now have an answer and proof for almost everything. We actually know that Jupiter and Saturn will meet in years away from us. We just don’t know, we provide evidence. Not only can we see it with the naked eye from the backyard of our house, but we can also observe it with huge telescopes. We have almost all the necessary technology and knowledge.

Okay, maybe we never know the truth of the myths. But they can inspire us.

Let’s admit it now. None of us is such busy people. We all have a few minutes. Not for trend, but for ourselves. Now, today, we have a chance like these men, we have a chance to follow and give the meaning we want to our own Star of Bethlehem. Just, raise your head to the sky!
