Where to Travel ?

Where to Travel ?

Where to travel when the pandemic is over?

We have hope that eventually we will return to the good old days. Most of all, we missed traveling, walking comfortably from street to street. So I took a map of the world in front of me and marked the places I wanted to go without thinking. After all, it’s free to dream!

Here are a few sweet places you might want to go but not the most popular ones:

Mýkonos – Greece

Mýkonos is one of the smaller of the eastern Cyclades (Kykládes) group of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. According to legend, it is the piece of rock thrown by Heracles to destroy the Giants. It is a rugged granite mass, about 33 square miles (85 square km) in area, lying next to Delos (Dílos) and between Tínos to the northwest and Náxos (Náchos) and Páros to the south. Mýkonos has several beaches, and on the north coast, the Gulf of Pánormos forms a deep indentation. Located on the west side of the island is its capital, Mýkonos town; the town is the center of the thriving tourism industry and is renowned for its nightlife.

Mykonos Airport is located 4 kilometers southeast of the town of Mykonos and it is served by international flights during summer. The flight from Athens to Mykonos takes 25 minutes. Mykonos is also accessible by boat and ferries. High-speed vessels visit daily from the surrounding islands and from Athens. In fact, there would be a good summer vacation on this island. In its clear and blue waters, the heat of summer was easily forgotten. The joy of the island would take away all our fatigue.

Alsace – France

Alsace is in eastern France, along the border with Germany, South of the Swiss city of Basel and north of Strasbourg. This place appeals to those who love nature, vineyards, flowers, villages, towns, history, food, wine, beer, calm. The small but important Alsatian-Loren region has been known for its constant exchange of hands between the French and Germans over the years, as well as its medieval architecture and wines. The festivities of the year’s end involve the production of a great variety of biscuits and small cakes called bredela as well as pain d’épices (gingerbread cakes) which are baked around Christmas time.

The Kugelhupf is also popular in Alsace and the Christstollen during the Christmas season. Summer is the best time to visit this area. There are festivals everywhere. Of course, we don’t know how it will after the pandemic. But if this fairy-tale region is so impressive even from photos, who knows what effect it would have if it was really visible.

Bologna – Italy

Although a small city, Bologna is full of surprises, an impressive alternative for those who want to wander peacefully in a medieval city, a little away from the other major cities of Italy that have been flooded with tourists. Located in the region between the cities of Venice and Florence, one of the most visited cities in Italy, the city is about 1 hour away from both.

One of the most beautiful things about this place is that it can be easily visited in four seasons. Bologna is a city that appeals to both the palate and the pocket. Here we can easily find the best dishes of Italian culture. And their prices are more affordable than in other regions. In addition, Europe’s first university is also located here. Going here definitely gives you the feeling of time travel. Because the city and its architecture are so beautifully preserved that it almost seems to come from another time.

I hope we meet again when we can travel freely and explore!
